ABSTRACT TITLE: A METHOD FOR COATING LEAD DIOXIDE ON MILD STEEL BY ELECTRODEPOSITION FROM ALKALINE BATH AND COATED ELECTRODE OBTAINED THEREOF. The present invention relates to a process for coating lead dioxide onto mild steel by electro-deposition from an alkaline bath containing selective alkaline electrolyte comprising sodium hydroxide, lead monoxide and sodium dodecyl sulphate(SDS). More particularly, the method for the electrodeposition of lead dioxide on mild steel substrate is directed to obtaining thereby a cost-effective and efficient electrocatalyst for the electrochemical oxidation of organic materials present in wastewater. The advancement which is directed to provide an electrode to serve as cost-effective and efficient electrocatalyst having deposited mixture of a and ß PbO2on mild steel base plate with prospects of application such as in textile industry and also in treatment of phenolics in wastewater.
