The method and multi-contact plug connector device for controlling and measuring the consumption of electricity in power consuming devices operated by remote control is an arrangement of devices that allows the measurement of the power consumption in electronic appliances in homes, offices or industries through a multi-contact plug connector device of Alternate Current, type NEMA 5-a5 (North American Standard). Said measurement may be displayed through an application in one or more mobile devices such as electronic tablets or smartphones. Besides monitoring the electric power consumption, it is possible to control in a remote manner the switching on and off of the connected electronic devices, also having a universal remote control with screen that allows the electric power consumption to be monitored and the electronic devices controlled by programmed infrared connectivity.
