Recently, an impetus has been given to the research of the insertion of fiber optic sensors embedded into structures of composite materials intended to monitor the structural integrity in different applications such as: aeronautics, space, navy industry, automotive industry or infrastructure industry. The advantage of using sensors of fiber optic, especially of the Bragg grid type lies in that the fiber optic is of a reduced diameter (0.250 mm), besides not being disturbed by electromagnetic fields and having compatibility with the material (silicon made fiber optic). This invention proposes a charging cell that may also act as a representative test piece in dimensions, layers, materials, stacking sequences and manufacturing processes like those used in structures of composite materials, which enable the sensor-structure interaction to be studied upon having the possibility of being subjected to different states of stress, simultaneously acting as a charging cell.
