The invention relates to a process for preparing micro- and nano-particles of hydroxyapatite, as such or in intimate admixture with biomacromolecules, meant for biomedical applications. According to the invention, the process consists in preparing the calcium salt of biomacromolecules of protein and/or polysaccharide type, in synthetizing the hydroxyapatite crystals in the presence of some crystallization adjuvants and assisted by an electric field applied from the exterior of an aqueous reaction medium, in capacitive system, in separating the synthesis product and in post-processing the same.
