The invention relates to a composition and a process for obtaining biodegradable materials for the plastic processing industry. According to the invention, the composition consists, in weight percentages, of 10...50% polyvinyl alcohol, 10...50% starch, 20...50% mixture of plasticizers with the two polymers, 0.01...0.9% stabilizer mixture, 0.1...2% lubricant mixture, 0.01...2% compatibilizer, 0.01...4% destructuring agent, 21...40% mineral filler, up to 40% natural fibers or wood flour. As claimed by the invention, the process consists in drying the natural filler up to a humidity of 3...4% and mixing it with the previously processed solid and liquid components, the resulting mixture being extruded to result in granules which are processed by injection.
