Invention herewith described refers to the agent for chemical thinning of apple fruits based on α-naphthylacetic acid with the addition of naphthenic acids. The invention solves the problem of chemical thinning of fruits with the aim of regulating the yield and increasing the fruit size while maintaining high quality. In so far the available literature, it is not known that naphthenic acids can cause falling off of young apple fruit or that may accelerate the growth of the remaining fruit on the trees, though it is known that they show physiological activity analogue to the class of plant growth hormones called auxins. The essence of the invention is in the fact that by the application of a solution of NAA with the addition of naphthenic acids for thinning apple fruit as the result there is higher average fruit weight compared to the treatments with NAA without naphthenic acids. In the process, the intensity of thinning is approximately the same or lower which as the result has a higher yield of fruits per tree. The apple fruit do not change the quality in relation to the thinning with NAA solution without the addition of naphthenic acids. In order to examine the efficacy of preparations based on NAA with the addition of naphthenic acids for chemical thinning of apple fruits, there is used the concentrated solution containing 3.3% NAA and 5.4 rng/I of naphthenic acids that is immediately before the application diluted to a suitable final concentration depending on the fruit setting intensity and variety of apple.
