The method for treating onychomycosis involving more than three nail plates or more than 50 % of each nail plate comprises the systemic and topical antimycotics. The treatment starts in 4 weeks preceding the systemic antimycotics. The pathogenetic drugs are also prescribed. Xanthinol nicotinate is taken per os at a dose of 150 mg thrice a day, Biotin is taken at a dose of 5 mg once a day, and Heparsil – at a dose of 70 mg thrice a day for 90 days. Since the 5th week, Lamifen is provided per os at a dose of 250 mg once a day until the complete recovery of the nail plates. The paste is administered onto the nail plates throughout the course of the treatment.
