摘要

A method for the rolling contact fatique testing of railroad rails consists in that test specimens of rail steel are run by press rolls in longitudinal direction till defect occurrence on the surface. Testing is performed on high-speed crank press, rail section are used as specimens. The press rolls have railroad wheel profile, roll diameter is selected upon condition of equality of maximum stresses in roll/rail and wheel/rail contact zone. Maximum displacement rate of roll mounted on the press ram is determined by formula EMBED Equation.3 , wherein EMBED Equation.3 is number of press strokes per minute, EMBED Equation.3 is crank radius of crank shaft.
