METHOD FOR CORRECTION OF D-VITAMIN STATUS OF COWS IN THE PRENATAL AND POSTNATAL PERIODS AND THEIR CALVES

A method for correction of D-vitamin status of cows in the prenatal and postnatal periods and their calves includes a one-time parenteral administration of vitamin D to cows in the last days of pregnancy, and determination of 25-OHD, total calcium, inorganic phosphorus and magnesium levels. Moreover, vitamin D was also administered after calving: three times, with an interval of 7 days at the appropriate dosage (210 or 420 IU per kg of body weight) according to the level (corrected for level) of this vitamin availability to down-calving cows (based on 25-OHD level) to determine the concentration of protein-bound and ultrafiltered calcium, alkaline phosphatase activity in cows 3-5 days before calving and 55-60 days after calving, as well as in their calves on 5-7 and 55-60 day after birth.
