The invention concerns a milling tool for slot milling and a set of milling inserts of the milling tool. The milling tool comprises a tool body (2), a plurality of separated first seats (11; fig 6), which form root insert seats for root inserts (21) arranged one after the other along a first line, a plurality of separated flank insert seats (12,13; fig 6) that comprise a plurality of second seats (12) for flank inserts (22) arranged one after the other along a second line on a primary side of the root insert seats, and a plurality of third seats (13) for flank inserts (22) arranged one after the other along a third line on a secondary side (7) of the root insert seats. Each flank insert seat (12,13) comprises a bottom surface (16), an inner side surface (17), and an outer side surface (18). Each flank insert (22; Figs 17-21) comprises an under side (51), an opposite upper side (52), and a circumferential edge side (53) connecting the upper side (52) and the under side (51). A centre axis (A) extends through the upper side (52) and under side (51) of the flank insert (22). The edge side (53) of the flank insert (22) forms a rake face.
