In which use is made of a box minimization benchmark method which accelerates the spherical decoding and which comprises a preprocessing step and a searching step. The method provides a new feasibility test included in the searching step, in which signals scki are obtained which, when not in the box, result in the signal scri being obtained, which reduces and simplifies the number of minimizations, reducing the computing time and therefore the cost of the decoding in terms of time. In addition, the method uses these signals scri and/or scki to select an initial signal x0 which is used in the box minimization method, which also minimizes the cost of the box minimizations in terms of time.
