Photobioreactor combined air-lift type for biomass production

The present invention shows a modification of an air-lift type photobioreactor for the production of biomass, by combining the mechanism of a bubble column and conventional air-litt. The photobioreactor is cylindrical, flat or conical bottom, and has an internal recirculation circuit resulting in the generation of many bubbles which can combine both effects. The photobioreactor as described in this invention provides a much more effective than conventional agitation prevents deposition on the walls of microalgae, achieves better light transfer and better utilization of CO {sub, 2}.
