Lamellar graphite cast iron characterized by comprising the following composition: 3.2 to 3.6 5% by weight of C; 1.8 to 2.2% by weight Si, 0.1 to 0.8 wt% Mn, up to 0.02 wt% S, up to 0.1% by weight of P 0.15 to 0.60 wt% Ti with the balance of iron composition and trace elements.
