Isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleic acid sequence encoding an acyl-CoA synthetase (ACoAS) that catalyzes the conversion of free fatty acids (AGL) from long-chain PUFAs into acyl-CoA, in which the sequence of Nucleic acid encodes an acyl-CoA synthetase (ACoAS) that is at least 75% identical to an ACoAS that has an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 83.
