A method for quantifying specific expression allele RNA in a human individual who is heterozygous for a polymorphism of a single nucleotide (SNP) in the gene Growth Factor Insulin 2 (IGF2), the method comprising quantifying in a sample individual amount of RNA comprising each polymorphic SNP option, where the SNP is SEQ ID NO: 16; and correlating the relative amount of RNA comprising each polymorphic SNP option with loss of imprinting of IGF2.
