A method for the detection, diagnosis or staging of lung cancer in a patient, the method comprising the combined analysis of proteins CYFRA 21-1 and LRG-1, in a blood sample of the subject, providing said combined analysis one indication of the presence, stage or progression of lung cancer in the patient.
