Method of controlling a numerical control machine (CN) (10) having a single cutting tool (12) to cut a piece with welding preparation from a sheet, comprising:) combining welding preparation parameters (822 ) with an electronic description of the part (820.1) in a geometry editor (811) to form an enriched three-dimensional electronic file or CAM (820) that includes at least the original two-dimensional geometry of the part and weld details incorporated with each entity and / or movement defined in the enriched three-dimensional electronic file or CAM (820), in which one line per entity is defined, which contains coordinates that include an initial point, an end point, a center and at least six parameters that define preparation for welding; and characterized by: b) converting the enriched three-dimensional electronic file or CAM (820) into several paths of the cutter (824) to be supplied to the CN machine, usable to control the CN machine (10) to cut the part with at least a bevel based on the enriched three-dimensional electronic file or CAM (820), the conversion comprising separating continuously connected entities defined in the enriched three-dimensional electronic file or CAM (820) into constant bevel definition segments, and creating up to three others paths representing separate parallel contours that include cutting displacements of said segments, and the control comprising moving the cutting tool in the XY plane, rotating the cutting tool, and / or tilting the cutting tool; c) provide the CN machine with the various paths of the cutter (824); d) instruct the CN machine with the various paths of the cutter (824), to cut the part of the sheet; and e) control the CN machine to perform the various paths of the cutter by the single cutting tool to cut along the line segment, each of the various paths of the cutter following a separate but parallel contour along the segment of line.
