High speed contact able to detect, indicate and avoid incorrect operations due to an internal fault. # A contact (50) hybrid that allows detecting failure of a power transistor (16), to warn users of said fault via an alarm signal (13), and take steps to prevent malfunction of the contact (50) when a fault hybrid of this type is detected. Said contact (50) comprises a metallic contact (20) in parallel with a pair of power transistors (16, 40), first and second, serially connected. Thus the second power transistor (40) comprises a detection point (46) providing a signal proportional to current flow through said second power transistor (40). This signal detection point (46) instructs a controller (12) if current flows through the second power transistor (40) when it should not, indicating a fault.
