The invention relates to a test arrangement (2, 4, 6) for testing surgevoltage in electrical high voltage componentswith a surge voltage generator (12) and a voltage distributor (14) in the formof a tower-like structure with a first and a secondstructure end with a rectangular container (16), with a first and a secondcontainer end. The surge voltage generator (12) and/orthe voltage distributor (14) are movable between a first approximatelyhorizontal position inside the container (16) and anapproximately vertical position relative to the container (16). Each movementbetween the two positions involves a pivot motion abouta rotational axis (18) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of thesurge voltage generator(12).
