The invention relates to a rotating construction laser,in particular a self-compensating construction laser. Theconstruction laser comprises a base and a laser unit foremitting a laser beam rotating around an axis of rotationso that the rotating laser beam defines a laser plane.Therein, the laser unit is built and tiltably arranged tothe base in such a way, that the axis is tiltable in atleast one direction. Furthermore, a tilt sensor ispresent for measuring the tilt of the axis. According tothe invention, the tilt sensor is supported by a sensorplatform being pivotable with respect to the laser unitaround the axis between at least two definedpivoting-positions in such a way, that the tilt of theaxis is measurable by the tilt sensor in the at least twopivoting-positions.
