The invention provides methods and techniques for using binding-induced DNAstranddisplacement sensing technology. The methods and techniques provided are nottemperaturedependent and thus, do not require thermal cycling or other temperatureconsiderations. Themethods and techniques provided do not require enzyme-driven reactions. Themethods andtechniques are application for diagnostic and imaging applications, andprovide real-timemonitoring of cell surface interactions. Also provided are reagents, reagentkits, assay kits, andprobes.
