A method and system for real-time qualification of rental customers allows arentalcompany to quickly qualify a customer making an online reservation of a rentalvehicle, such asa car share rental, without requiring the customer to be a member or have amembership or to bepre-qualified. The system includes: a database operative to store accountinformation associatedwith a customer for a rental transaction; an input component operative toreceive from thecustomer an uploaded image of the customer's driver's license and an uploadedsecond image ofthe customer; and a processor operative with the database to use the uploadeddriver's licenseimage, the uploaded second image and information associated with the uploadedsecond image toqualify the customer for a rental transaction. The system can compare thecustomer's driver'slicense image to the uploaded second image of the customer and qualify thecustomer for therental transaction if the second image is uploaded within a pre-defined timebefore the rentaltime period begins. The information associated with the second uploaded imageof the customercan include a timestamp associated with the second uploaded image and/or a GPSlocationassociated with the uploaded image.
