The invention relates to a roller drill for removing material, especially rocks, minerals,or the like, according to the undercutting principle. Said roller drill comprisesa cutting edge (12) that is concentric to a central axis M and conically widenstowards the face (11) of the roller drill (10), and a supporting element (15) whichis arranged on the internal face of the cutting edge (12) and extends to the face(11) of the tool. In order to design a roller drill or a roller bit, the down timeof which is shorter or the useful life of which is longer than in prior art, the cuttingedge (12) is made of a harder material than the supporting element (15), and thesupporting element (15) forms an annular web (22) which is conical at least onan external circumferential wall (20) and delimits a free space (21) on the face(11) of the drill/bit by means of the internal circumferential wall (23) thereof.The drill/bit can be autonomously resharpened as a result of the free space andthe different material combination.
