In this communication system (1), on the basis of prescribed acquisition information, a connecting base station (20) that serves a connecting cell acquires control information from a wireless signal transmitted by a user terminal (30) via said connecting cell. The acquisition information is sent to each of a number of cooperating base stations (20), each of which serves a cooperating cell. The aforementioned user terminal (30) executes a control-information transmission process in which a wireless signal that represents control information including acquired communication-state information is transmitted for each cell. On the basis of the aforementioned sent acquisition information, each cooperating base station (20) acquires control information from the corresponding wireless signal transmitted by the user terminal (30) via the connecting cell. For each cell, the base station (20) serving said cell controls the execution of cooperative communication on the basis of the communication-state information included in the acquired control information.
