An atmospheric pressure equilibrium ventilation unit includes: a first frame assembly having a first frame for defining a first ventilation opening, a first rotational shaft installed in the first ventilation opening, and a first open/close plate provided on the first rotational shaft for opening or closing the first ventilation opening by rotating along with the first rotational shaft; a second frame assembly arranged adjacent to the first frame assembly having a second frame for defining a second ventilation opening, a second rotational shaft installed in the second ventilation opening, and a second open/close plate provided on the second rotational shaft for opening or closing the second ventilation opening by rotating along with the second rotational shaft, the second open/close plate being rotated by the difference between the atmospheric pressures respectively applied to both sides of the second open/close plate so as to open the second ventilation opening; a drive part having a static motor connected to the first rotational shaft so as to rotate the first rotational shaft forward or backward according to an opening or closing signal; a drive control part connected to both the first rotational shaft and the static motor for controlling the static motor by cutting off the opening or closing signal if the first rotational shaft rotates by a prescribed angle; and a locking control part cooperating with the first rotational shaft and the second rotational shaft for restraining the second rotational shaft so as to keep the second ventilation opening closed when the first rotational shaft rotates by a prescribed angle to open the first ventilation opening according the opening signal. Thus, the atmospheric pressure equilibrium ventilation unit is installed between two or more preservation chambers at different temperatures or between a freezing chamber and a cooling chamber (or between a heat-generation heating chamber and a heat-reception heating chamber), so that if a control region needs to be maintained at a higher or lower temperature, the air of a lower temperature region with a higher heat source part or of a higher temperature region with a lower heat source part is supplied to the place adjacent to the control region, and the positive pressure generated in the region receiving the air is returned to the region supplying the air to set off the negative pressure generated therein, thus maintaining the atmospheric pressure equilibrium so as to make the air ventilation smooth, controlling the temperature of the place adjacent to the control region. Also, if a person or an agricultural product exists in a preservation chamber or first chamber, and a gas harmful to the person or product is generated exceeding an allowable concentration in the chamber, and the gas detected is caused by a fire, the gas is discharged to the outside, and the fresh air from the outside is supplied to the inside of the chamber, or if the gas is not caused by a fire but a particular poisonous gas, the gas in the chamber is automatically discharged to the outside, and oxygen or a gas for neutralizing the particular poisonous gas is supplied to the inside of the chamber, thus lowering the concentration of the poisonous gas below a prescribed value.
