This method for selecting an optimal movement pattern selects a plurality of selectable motors and suggests an optimal movement pattern from among the motor movement patterns defined by the position-determining interval during which the motor output shaft of a motor for rotating a load by only a position-determining angle rotates and the stopped interval during which the motor output shaft is stopped. The method for selecting an optimal movement pattern includes: an overall determination step for calculating the overall determination results according to suitable items, and associating and storing the overall determination results for each motor; and a table display step for displaying a table listing the motors and the overall determination results.
