The present invention aims at designing a system for providing water to pigs, which comprises a float and provides water in a way that resembles that of the natural animal habitat. The device is a container with side walls (10) to prevent fights, a bowl-shaped bottom (8) that contains water received therein through a floating levelling valve (3) that is protected by a partition (4). The extent to which the float is introduced into the device can be set by means of setting holes (9). The compartment (7) that houses the float is covered by a lid (11). In the back part of the drinking trough, holes (2) are provided for fastening the float to the wall of the device. The device can have more than one drinking bowl (8) with a common float (7).
