METHOD AND SYSTEM MAKING USE OF A HOME GATEWAY AND A SMARTPHONE TO MAKE A CORDLESS TELEPHONE CALL

A method and system making use of a home gateway and a smartphone to make a cordless telephone call, relating to computers and communications systems and comprising a home gateway device and a smartphone communicating by means of an IP network; the home gateway device comprising a voice telephony module, the smartphone comprising a voice terminal module, the voice telephone module controlling the telephone connected by the telephone port of the home gateway, and communicating, by means of the IP network, with a telecommunications server; the voice terminal module interacting, by means of the IP network, with the voice telephony module to complete a telephone connection. Without increasing hardware costs, the present invention uses a smartphone as a cordless telephone terminal for answering a telephone call; a user can answer anytime and anywhere, by means of an IP network, a call dialed to a telephone connected to a home gateway device.
