METHOD FOR EXPANDING DISK SPACE OF VIRTUAL MACHINE, HOST MACHINE AND PLATFORM

Disclosed are a method for expanding the disk space of a virtual machine, a host machine and a platform. The method for expanding the disk space of a virtual machine comprises: installing an operating system of a virtual machine in a first LVM partition, and forming a mirror image file of data in the first LVM partition; creating a second LVM partition having the same size as the mirror image file, transmitting the mirror image file to the second LVM partition, and using the second LVM partition to start up the virtual machine on a host machine; and when the disk space of the virtual machine needs to be expanded, using the current disk space of the host machine to expand the disk space of the virtual machine. The present invention can dynamically manage the disk space of the virtual machine, thereby reducing the costs of a cloud computing virtualization platform, and improving the efficiency thereof.
