The present invention relates to a method for synthesizing lanthanide-based coordination compounds using exclusively ultra-sound as the energy source. More specifically, the method comprises the following steps: addition of a chelating agent to an aqueous medium while applying ultra-sound; and addition of lanthanide oxide to the aqueous medium while applying ultra-sound. In addition, the present invention describes new Gd(III) complexes. The present invention pertains to the chemistry field.
