AQUEOUS SUSPENSION OF INORGANIC PARTICLES, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SUSPENSION AND USE OF SUSPENSION

The invention relates to an aqueous suspension, which comprises inorganic particles and has dry solids content of at least 20 weight-%. The suspension is produced by obtaining or forming an aqueous starting suspension of inorganic particles, adding a water-soluble silicate and a water-soluble calcium source to the aqueous suspension of inorganic particles, and mixing the suspension, whereby a coating comprising calcium silicate hydrate is formed on at least a part of the surface of the inorganic particles. The suspension, when used for manufacture of concrete comprising Portland cement binder and inorganic aggregates, in an amount of 1 – 12 weight-%, based on the weight of Portland cement binder, increases the hydration reaction speed of the concrete by at least 5 %, compared to a concrete not containing said suspension.
