An endoscopy capsule (100) for detecting fluorescence emitted by biological tissue. The capsule has a multiplexing power management system that enables an array of SPADs (134) to be integrated with a high voltage charge pump (136) to provide an improved wireless image sensor. The capsule may include a light source (110) for exciting a fluorescence response, and an optical interference prevention unit (114) arranged to separate an output optical signal path from the light source from a detected fluorescence signal incident on the array of SPADs.
