A multi-gap self-inflating strong-airflow protective device for lightning protection by longitudinal-blast arc extinguishing. The device comprises a longitudinal-blast arc extinguishing device installed on a grounding terminal of an insulator string (1) via a grounding-side link fitting (2), a grounding-side electrode (5) installed on the longitudinal-blast arc extinguishing device, and a conductor-side electrode (6) installed on an overhead conductor, wherein a protective gap formed by the grounding-side electrode (5) and the conductor-side electrode (6) is parallel to the insulator string (1). The longitudinal-blast arc extinguishing device comprises an arc extinguishing device main body (3) and arc extinguishing tubes (8), wherein the arc extinguishing device main body (3) is provided with several through holes for placing the arc extinguishing tubes, and the angle formed between pairwise arc extinguishing tubes which have ends in contact with each other and are placed in the arc extinguishing device main body is 90°. The arc extinguishing tubes (8) are spirals. The grounding-side electrode (5) is connected to the first arc extinguishing tube via a conductor, and the grounding-side link fitting (2) is connected to the last arc extinguishing tube via a conductor. The device has a simple structure, low manufacturing cost, security and reliability, effectively reduces the lightning tripping rate and accident rate of a power transmission line of an electric power system, and improves the stability of the electric power system.
