The present invention relates to a method and to an arrangement for symmetrizing a Poynting error of a laser beam (50) which is composed of at least two collimated beam bundles (20, 21) which are emitted by two laser light sources, in particular by two laser diode bars (10, 11) and propagate in opposite propagation directions, by beam deflection, in which method and arrangement the beam bundle (20, 21) of one of the two laser light sources is rotated by an optical beam rotation device (60) through 180° about the optical axis (O1, O2) of a collimation lens means (30, 31) assigned to this laser light source, before the geometrical deflection is carried out by a beam deflection means (40, 41).
