METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR OPERATING A SCRAPYARD

The invention relates to a method for operating a scrapyard which comprises at least one loading means, in particular a crane, and at least one transport means and from which a scrap-evaluating system can be supplied. For a plurality of scrap types of a respective specific quality, a respective stored quantity and/or deposit at the scrapyard is detected by means of at least one electronic measuring system, a subsequent-product quantity to be generated by the scrap-evaluating system at a specific level of quality being specified. An assembly of scrap types of different qualities is specified using the available stored quantities and/or deposits of the scrap types according to cost and/or time and/or energy parameters for at least one charge, in particular all charges, for supplying the scrap-evaluating system. An actual position of the at least one loading means is detected, the respective shortest travel path for the at least one loading means is calculated, and the respective shortest travel path and a loading plan connected to said travel path for the at least one transport means are calculated on the basis of the deposits. The transport means or each transport means is loaded according to the ascertained loading plan and the specific assembly of the charge. The invention further relates to a system for operating a scrapyard using at least one control unit which is designed to carry out the method according to the invention.
