Disclosed is an Ethernet operation, administration and maintenance (OAM) configuration method, the method comprising: a network controller conducts capability negotiation with an OpenFlow switch, and acquires the OAM type supported by the OpenFlow switch; the network controller transmits a configuration message to the OpenFlow switch according to the OAM type supported by the OpenFlow switch; and after receiving the configuration message, the OpenFlow switch creates an OAM entity and functional configuration thereof. Also disclosed is an Ethernet OAM configuration device.
