EMERGENCY POWER SYSTEM FOR NUCLEAR POWER PLANT AND EMERGENCY INDEPENDENT POWER SOURCE

This emergency power system for a nuclear power plant is provided with a first level emergency power source which supplies power during a level 1 state, and a second level emergency power source (10) which supplies power in a level 2 state. The second level emergency power source (10) is provided with: a first rotary electric machine (16a) which is electrically connected directly to a normal power source and/or the first level emergency power source; a second rotary electric machine (16b) which is mechanically and not electrically connected to the first rotary electric machine (16a); a second level emergency bus line (14) which is electrically connected to the second rotary electric machine (16b) via a breaker (17a) and supplies power to a load during emergencies; and a backup generator (15) which starts at the time of a level 2 state and supplies emergency power to the second level emergency bus line (14).
