The present invention provides a cloud platform control method, based on an SDMP protocol, for a smart device, the method using an SDMP-format communications protocol to establish communications between a smart device and a cloud platform server, and comprising the following communications steps: the smart device querying registration status; the smart device acquiring information, and the cloud platform server performing smart control of the smart device; the smart control terminal sending a control instruction and manually controlling the smart device by means of the cloud platform server. The control method of the present invention overcomes the restriction of a control platform being limited to controlling each unit independently in a local area network, and broadens smart device control channels and expands the range of applications of smart device control platforms. The control method of the present invention defines a standard communications protocol for communications between all brands and types of smart device and a cloud platform server, and provides a good channel for reliable interaction between various smart devices and a cloud platform; the protocol is simple, secure, easily expandable, and easy to implement.
