PHOSPHATE-BASED GRANULAR MATERIAL, PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING SAME AND USE THEREOF IN A DEVICE FOR REMOVING PHOSPHATES FROM WASTEWATERS

The subject of the present invention is a phosphate-based granular material, the process for manufacturing same and the use thereof in a device for removing phosphates from wastewaters. According to the invention, this granular material is in the form of granules having a size between 2 and 10 mm, said granules comprising, expressed as percentages by weight, relative to the total weight of the granules: - from 65 to 97% by weight of a natural phosphate preferably of sedimentary origin; - from 0 to 30% by weight of at least one additional component, preferably a component capable of increasing the crushing strength of said granules; - from 1% to 10% by weight of a hydraulic binder, preferably chosen from cements; - from 0 to 10% by weight of at least one specific granulation binder other than water; - from 2% to 15% by weight of water. This material is intended to capture the phosphates dissolved in the wastewaters, and may especially be used in horizontal-flow filters.
