The field of this invention is that of the exploration and exploitation of oil deposits. More specifically, this invention relates to the development of nanoparticles, useful as tracers, for monitoring the movement of fluid injected into a petroleum deposit. The injected fluids diffuse through a solid geological medium which constitutes the oil reservoir, thus making it possible to study the latter by following the path of the injected fluids. The objective is in particular to control the flows between the injection well (s) and the production well (s) and / or to evaluate the volumes of oil in reserve and water in the deposit and, in the end, optimize oil exploration and development.
