摘要

The present invention relates to a novel red light-emitting iridium (III) complex compound capable of being solution-processed, and more specifically, to a novel iridium (III) complex compound into which a picolinic acid derivative is introduced and an organic electroluminescent device comprising the iridium (III) complex compound, wherein in the iridium (III) complex compound, a quinolone- and a thiophene-derivative are introduced as main ligands, and halogen and a substituent exhibiting electron transport characteristics or a substituent exhibiting hole transport characteristics are introduced as ancillary ligands, on the para position of a nitrogen atom in picolinic acid. The iridium (III) complex compound, according to the present invention, is a red light-emitting phosphorescent compound which has excellent electric stability, high light-emitting characteristics and luminance, is capable of achieving color purity, has improved solubility with respect to an organic solvent, and has excellent interfacial characteristics with an electrode due to improved heat resistance, and thus can be useful as a color-developing material.
