METHOD FOR PAINTING AUTOMOTIVE PLASTIC PARTS, IN PARTICULAR AUTOMOTIVE BUMPERS

The invention relates to a method for painting automotive plastic parts, in particular automotive bumpers, wherein in order to prepare for the painting, automotive plastic parts continuously pass through a cleaning area and are cleaned in said area by CO2 in a cleaning process by means of an automatically operated cleaning device and wherein after the cleaning process the automotive plastic parts passing through enter a painting area and are provided with at least one paint layer in said area by way of an automated painting process. According to the invention, the cleaning device is moved at specified time intervals from a cleaning position to a testing position, the cleaning device then (in the testing position) applies CO2 to a test body as part of a testing process, and the cleaning device is moved back to a cleaning position. By means of an automated evaluation of the application of CO2 to the test body, a conclusion is made about the perfect functioning of the cleaning device, such that overall the automated cleaning of the automotive plastic parts continuously passing through the cleaning area remains at least substantially unimpaired by the testing process.
