The method allows trusted communication in a communication system that comprises a telecommunication exchange (2), such as a private branch exchange, that, in response to a setup request received from a calling party, provides switching functions for establishing a call connection between at least a first and a second terminal (1X, 1Y) through which the related parties can negotiate and execute transactions. According to the invention the telecommunication exchange (2), which comprises a call control unit (20) and a switching unit (21), forwards the addresses of the calling party and the called party to an authentication server (3), which stores at least one data record for the calling party address and/or the called party address containing a current trust level (TLx; TLy), and at least one required trust level (TLRx; TLRy). Based on an initiated call the authentication server (3) compares the current trust level (TLx, TLy) and the required trust level (TLRx; TLRy) of the calling party and/or the called party with one another and the telecommunication exchange (2) establishes the requested call connection, if the current trust level (TLx, TLy) exceeds the required trust level (TLRx; TLRy) of the calling party and/or the called party.
