A DC/DC boost power converter (1) comprising:an input voltage selection circuit (5) adapted to split a DC input voltage, Vin, applied by a DC power source (2) to input terminals (6, 7) of a DC bus having a positive bus line (8) anda negative bus line (9) into subvoltages applied to corresponding DC bus capacitors, CBUS, being connected in series to each other between said bus lines (8, 9) of said DC bus,wherein a pump charge circuit connected across each pair of neighboring DC bus capacitors, CBUS, is adapted to pump electrical charges received from said DC power source (2) to one of said bus lines (8, 9) of said DC bus to provide a boosted DC output voltage at output terminals (10, 11) of said DC bus.
