The invention provides a method and system for dynamic allocation of network resources in the access network and in at least one customer network. In the novel process, the positions of all users in the customer network are first determined. If it is determined that no users of the customer network is registered in the customer network, the customer's network or at least one of its components is displaced in a first predefined condition. In this case, at least one of an access port associated with the customer network access multiplexer to the access network resource pool in particular a DSLAM port will continue to be released.
