Subject of the present invention is a System for computer-based consumer-specific product configuration applications comprising:- a personal product configuration client (PPCC), which has access to- a private preference database (PPDB) with the private data of the consumer;- producers data gate (PDG), used by the vendors of different products to provide the system with product data and- a configuration infrastructure (CI) which performs the configuration process.
