Embodiments of the present invention provide an apparatus and a method by which measurements are carried out and measurement reports are sent on fulfillment of measurement trigger conditions related to measurement trigger parameters, the measurements and corresponding measurement reports being defined according to predefined measurement events, wherein for each measurement event a measurement trigger parameter is independently configured from other measurement trigger parameters for other measurement events. Furthermore, an apparatus and a method are provided by which a user equipment is configured to carry out the above functions.
