The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a carbon material containing metallic nanoparticles by irradiating radiation, and a carbon material containing metallic nanoparticles manufactured thereby and, more specifically, to a method for manufacturing a carbon material containing metallic nanoparticles comprising: step (1) for mixing a carbon precursor with metallic sa step (2) for forming metallic nanoparticles by irradiating the mixture of step (1) with radiation; step (3) for processing the mixture irradiated with the radiation in step (2); step (4) for stabilizing processed products processed in step (3); and step (5) for carbonizing the processed products stabilized in step (4). According to the present invention, the method for manufacturing a carbon material containing metallic nanoparticles is capable of forming metallic nanoparticles and stabilizing a carbon material at the same time by using radiation, and controlling the size of the metallic nanoparticles by modulating the amount of the radiation. Moreover, the carbon material manufactured according to the present invention has an effect of having flexible properties, and the optimal electromagnetic wave shielding performance by controlling the size of the contained metallic nanoparticles.
