The present invention relates to a blue dye compound for a color filter which is represented by chemical formula 1. A blue resin composition including the blue dye compound according to the present invention is able to realize a color filter with high brightness and high contrast ratio by having excellent solubility on an organic solvent such as propylene glycol methyl ether acetate (PGMEA) and the like, excellent miscible properties with a different dye or a pigment and high heat resistance.
