The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling an inverter for a grid-connected photovoltaic system which improves power conversion efficiency of the photovoltaic system and a lifespan of the inverter and reduces a cost for the inverter. The apparatus according to the present invention comprises: a switching unit connected to a DC source link terminal of a photovoltaic array; a plurality of DC/AC inverters connected to the switching unit in parallel; and a control unit which detects power capacities outputted from each of the DC/AC inverters and generates a control signal for selectively controlling operations of the DC/AC inverters based on a sum of the detected power capacities. The switching unit can selectively control the operations of the DC/AC inverters based on the control signal.
